The Shaor is a hydroelectric power station on the river Shaor (Rioni basin) in Georgia near the city of Tkibuli. It is part of the Shaori-Tkibulsky cascade of hydroelectric power stations, being its upper stage. The first hydropower plant was commissioned in 1955. The most high-pressure hydro in Georgia.
Constructively it is a high-pressure diversion hydroelectric station with a regulating reservoir. The hydraulic scheme of the station implies the transfer of the flow of the Shaori River, which flows in heavily karst areas and periodically disappears in the karst craters, into the Tkibuli River (a tributary of the Kvirila River). Nicortsminda is the Cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church located in the Georgian historical region of Racha. It is located 14 km south-west of the city of Ambrolauri. Inside the cathedral paintings dated XVI-XVII centuries. On the facades of the temple is the richest stone carving. It was built in 1010–1014, during the reign of Bagrath III, and was renovated in 1534 by King Bagrat III of Imereti. The three-storey bell tower next to the cathedral was built in the second half of the XIX century.
Barakoni Church of Our Lady Barakoni, a monument to the old Georgian dome architecture, is located in Raca, Ambrolauri municipality, village Tsesi. It was built by the master Avtandil Shularelli on the orders of the Raczyn prince Rostom in 1753. The building is in the shape of a cross with right angles, without extensions. The dome rests on the corners of the altar walls and two columns. Outside the walls of the building are abundantly decorated with patterned carvings of stone, the oldest samples of which are in the niches of the eastern facade. The church was built on a steep cliff, at the base of which a stormy stream of the Rioni River flows, with which the Luhuni River merges in this place. In the courtyard of the church is a rural cemetery.
