Telavi is the central city of Kakheti. Population – 20 thousand inhabitants
Tsinandali – 19th century museum. Located between Tbilisi and Telavi. Famous for its beautiful gardens and wine cellars.
Museum – Fortress and residence of King Erekle II. King of Georgia XVIII century.
Old Shuamta-Dzveli Shuamta in Kakheti (Eastern Georgia) is located 7 km from the city of Telavi, and is an ensemble of ancient churches.
New Shuamta – 2-3 km. In the church of Old Shuamt, built by the Queen of Kakhets, the kingdom of Tinatin in the 16th century was a functioning convent.
Cathedral of sv. George in Alaverdi Settlement in Georgia, in the Alazani Valley, 20 km north-west of the city of Telavi. In Alaverdi there is an outstanding monument of Georgian medieval architecture, the Cathedral of Tsminda Georgi (beginning of the 11th century, partially rebuilt in the 15th and 18th centuries). The architectural ensemble of the temple includes the medieval refectory, the bell tower and the fence (XVII century), the summer palace, the marani (wine cellar) and other objects.
